Hello everyone! My name is Hope Lynas, I’m 19 years old and live in Noblesville, Indiana. I graduated from Noblesville High School back in December of 2020 and just recently began pursuing an associate’s degree in human services through Columbia College in Missouri online.

I live with my amazing family here in Noblesville: my mom(Janna), dad(Derek), and two younger brothers(Mac and Mesfin). I also have an older sister(Amelia) who is about to graduate college with a degree in advertising, I’m so proud of her! I am so so blessed to have such a loving family that always has my back and supports the callings God lays on my heart. My parents formed a firm foundation of truth for me to grow my faith upon and for that I’ll be forever grateful to them. And I can’t forget to mention all my amazing friends and leaders that have continuously encouraged and challenged me in my faith over the years, I love you all so much!

From a young age, I’ve had a strong passion for serving people in need. My dad was an outreach pastor for a big chunk of my life, which gave me countless opportunities to serve the people of our community. Every week was a different service project that I’d jump at the chance to be a part of. A lot of my childhood was spent helping others which has certainly helped shape who I am today.

My passion for serving others has grown and evolved over the years and has brought me to a very special place I’m at today which is my job. Can I just be real with you all? At this point in my life, it’s my dream job! I get to work at a place called Outreach Inc. It’s a nonprofit organization that serves youth and young adults ages 18-24 experiencing homelessness. There it’s my job to create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who walks in our doors. It’s also my job, and strong desire, to create relationships with the young adults that we serve and make them feel seen and loved. I can’t thank God enough for giving me this amazing opportunity to show these young adults His love and encourage them in what God has for them in their lives!

When I’m not working my favorite thing is to be outside! I adore hiking, kayaking, swimming, and biking when I’m outside. When I’m inside I enjoy reading, painting, singing, and playing my guitar. And ALL THE TIME I love spending time with Jesus and my friends and family!

My relationship with God has had its ups and downs over the years as is true for many people that follow Christ. But one thing’s for sure is that I’ve never stopped loving Jesus and believing in the power of His gospel! I have a strong desire to know more of the Lord’s heart and develop a better understanding of His creation so I can learn how to best serve and love the people of this earth!

Those desires were the driving force in me applying for this Semsters trip. I could not be more excited to embark on this journey and grow closer to God throughout it! I know I would not be in this place in my life if it weren’t for my close family and friends encouraging and supporting the calling God has placed on my heart. So a huge thank you to those people and the people who will be supporting me throughout this journey. I love you all dearly!

I ask that you pray boldly for me during this time as well as seek out the calling God has intended for your own heart. I hope you’ll follow along with me on my blog and be encouraged and challenged by it. Stay tuned for more blog posts!
